Judge's Den

We along with our past and present Leos and other animal family are Judge's Den. We first learned of the Leonberger from wanting to have a extra large breed dog enter our family as a campaion and guardian. We had an unfortunate experience the first time around and had to return the dog because of behavior issues, which comes down to a not so good breeder and not being socialized properly. Just to note he wasn't a leonbeger. It was a costly indever both emotionally and fiancially. After we had recovered from the first time we decided to start looking again and we came across the Leonberger breed. The more we read the more we were sure that this was the extra large breed we were looking for. We had no idea of how to get one or where to look, we just started punching in leonberger puppies and kept coming up with breeders. As we read peoples statements about their Leonbergers we realized that this was serious business and it may take a long wait to get one of these puppies. We networked on the internet for a couple of months until we got the info for a breeder in Wisconsin, Nordlicht Kennels. Through getting to know her for some time before and after the puppies came we were able to get our first Leonberger Judge. He started a deep love of the breed. How smart and loyal he was. How he always wanted to be a part of the family going everywhere if allowed (he was) and enjoying life to the fullest. A real companion and important part of the family. From then on we knew that we always wanted to have Leo family members running around our house. A few years later we made a wonderful and lasting relationship with a breeder in the UK that resulted in us importing our female Leo Dolly. She is spunky and full of life. Princess Dolly! Edit- almost 9 years later Dolly has passed on recently but provided us with the most beautiful grandbabies anyone could ever want. She full filled our dreams of being breeders but we know that we full filled Dolly's dream of being a mother. Our breeding would not have been possible without our wonderful relationship with Dianne and Alan Page. We continued to import another female named Darla and a few years later a male named Chief. They have blessed us beyond words, supported us when we were down and continued to stand by us. We hope that we can continue our relationship for many years to come. Thank you Dianne and Alan from the the bottom of our hearts, without you we would have all of our fur family.
We live in Canada on the British Columbia Coast. Which allows for lots of wilderness and water. Our Leos spend their days running around our small farm, swimming when in season, hiking and lots of barking at different wildlife as they protect everyone in the pack.
